The biggest challenge by far was the kitchen and family room. The home owners realized that the lighting was a big issue, so windows and french doors were added back into the room, as well as three large lighting fixtures.

this should be the feeling when looking from island to the den. Open, one theme of Spanish Revival, ONE SPACE tied together via colors and woodwork. Love the lighting echoed in both rooms.

The mediterranean style is a combination of Spanish and Italian influences. I personally prefer leaning towards the Italian. This ceiling is clearly more Spanish in origin. Just feel its a bit overpowering.
