mccaulen I have a drop leaf table that, honestly, looks identical to the cherry drop leaf in this picture (white chair and white tiered couch table in pic as well) Could someone tell me the history of this table? Mine supposedly came from my father's side of the family...I have had someone say that it's era of being built (circa?) is 1790-1830. I would love to hear from you regarding the history of your table. Thank you

Where is there room for anyone's legs unless the leaves are put up? - I have a beautiful antique dining table exactly like this one. Sitting at either end is not really a comfortable option because of the apron and the narrow width. Those sitting on the bench would have a solid piece of wood where their legs should go. As I said, this may look nice, but is not really practical for everyday use as I see it. »
I love this table (also in Becky's cottage). Old drop-leaf tables often have a sort of rough patina of age and wear that's perfect for a casual, comfortable space.
Small can be versatile. A drop-leaf table can work for two in the setup shown here but fits many more when fully extended. To really save space, it can even be pushed flush against the wall when not needed and used as a sideboard with a bar tray on top.
