Designer Robert Stilin recreated Ina Garten's (Barefoot Contessa) famous Hamptons kitchen as House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Year in Rockefeller Center. The huge island isn't just perfect for TV - it's also an ideal way to entertain. Fabulous, as Barefoot would say.

The height of this dramatic arrangement is a good exclamation point on the end of the long island.

I love the way this hood's structure allows for some open shelving. Very usable!

Don't neglect your kitchen bar. Everyone will wind up gathering here anyway!
