Definitely a large area rug to break up all the hard surfaces, plus bring in color or pattern.
A decorative mirror above the fireplace could be nice. Think about installing a clear lucite ledge under the mirror - then you'll have a place to put candles or a small vase of greenery.
Also, you might consider a small side table with a colored glass lamp. Both pretty and practical.

Rug and some colorful pillows should do the trick. Plants too. The light coming from your window is awesome by the way.
