What about plants and landscaping? Should I consider putting in water resistant plants? Yes, water is a limited commodity. Only 2.5% of the earth’s water is potable, so conserving water is of great importance. In the landscape it is important to recognize the proper plant for the proper location. Perennial native plants will thrive and require minimal water. Many are quite beautiful and will enable you to keep that curb appeal. Find ways to reduce the amount of lawn space. Lawns are the greatest users of drinking water. If you haven’t done so yet, transition to organic fertilizers & food, your plants will love you for it.
This is simply incredible. Just be sure to use drought-tolerant plants. Then you could probably get one of those wildlife habitat signs to show off to all of your neighbors.
