Sod was removed from both sides of the yard. This sod was placed, grass side down, on one side of the yard where we wanted to raise the grade to match the neighbour's grade. Over the dug sod, we placed large sheets of cardboard from an appliance store. Over this, we installed new quality soil. The dug sod will decompose and provide nutrients to the garden, and we have less debris to remove from the site.
