Garret Cord Werner This is a custom cut travertine stone, hand selected for this project. If you are interested in a similar design for your home or project, we would be more than happy to do that for you. Please contact our office directly if you would like to move forward on that.

Desperate to know the stone manufacturer here! It's perfect and I've been searching tirelessly! - I'm about to break ground on a MCM style house and have extensive stonework planned but can't find just the right MCM/contemporary stone. »
tallbritster Real stone doesn't carry the real thin stack in any of the good colors anymore. Discontinued gray, bluish gray, greenish gray and charcoal. They do have shadowstone but each stone face is thicker and bulkier looking.
magarita this room looks dull. put artificial plants or whatever you like on both walls ( side by side) the fireplace. maybe you like to change the sofa or the carpet >> colours . unfortunately , i can't upload this pic. and bring it to my drawing board and post the new looks of this area to you for free of charge. you ever went to room's hotel? they are small space but the arrangement are awesome. just put one basket of artifical flowers and artificial fruits on the small table there. how? another thing, please discard the aluminium bottle(bottle?) to somewhere else.
i suggest you change the spotlight with something like this...pls see the attachment.
ksho "this room looks dull"?!!! A little presumptuous of you to speak for the majority of us who find this room rather nice (and to tell the designer how to 'fix' it).
FYI, "artificial flowers and/or fruit" are tacky and would cheapen this chic, modern space (since we're giving advice without being asked).
I'm installing a very similar fireplace with a band of honed onyx from floor to ceiling. I'm considering installing a floating mantle. I'm afraid that it would ruin the lines...but I do like having a mantle. What do you think? »
nicjmurray Chandani & all - I'm interested to know what kind of stone you used for your project? I've been tirelessly searching for something like the stone in this pic or similar to the Sinatra house in Palm Springs. I'd be VERY grateful for any advice!
Chandani Hi- I didn't want a lot of texture but did want the linear effect. I searched in my area of a vein cut limestone/travertine that in a cool light tone without a yellow tone. This turned out to be more difficult than I had anticipated and I wanted to keep the project on schedule, so I found a hone limestone with onyx. See image 1 for what I went with (I've changed the rug) and am quite happy with the decision. I think the material in the pics above might be angel stone. Here is something to get you started:

Susan Mills Design You can have upholstered pieces that resemble linen, in all shades and colours, that are stainproof, fadeproof and can be washed and or bleached if needed. As a mom of four as well as numerous pets over the years, from dogs to baby ducks (long story!) I know what can happen to a sofa, these fabrics handle it all.
Charmean Neithart Interiors, LLC. Consider Nanotex or Sunbrella fabrics for upholstered pieces. Leather is a great option for dining chairs in the kitchen. Install hardwood floors or travertine for flooring. Use wool rugs for softening these areas.
Create areas either built in or moveable for kids to put their toys away. I am not of the opinion that kids should be able to take over rooms with their toys, I think there should be a holding place so things can be put away. I have three kids and a lab. I have two giant drawers underneath a built in bench for them to put toys away. If they have more things than can fit in the drawers, then its time to give the excess away. Consider a no shoes policy in the house to keep furniture and rugs clean.
Keep club soda in your pantry, it's great for cleaning up spills.
Hope that helps. Charmean Neithart
Noguchi tables are probably my favorite cocktail tables ever. I love the swoopy, iconic lines and the organic shape of the glass top. Plus, they make me think of impossibly good-looking, outrageously terrible Betty and Don Draper types drinking martinis. And that I really can't resist.
Likewise, I just know these chairs must be iconic, but I don't know what they are. Do you? Please let me know in the comments section. I would like to properly ID the entire Noguchi Posse!
UPDATE: Thanks to tpreston for letting me know that these are the JJ armchair - Antonio Citterio by B&B Italia!
A white fireplace contrasts nicely with the paneled wall and ceiling, making a stunning focal point. This home is on Lake Washington, in Seattle. Bet there is a view to the left!
Ledgestone. This sleek floor-to-ceiling fireplace is constructed from one of the most popular materials currently on the market. Small strips of stone are applied vertically to look like tiny ledges, creating a soft contemporary feel.Design idea: With no hearth and mantel, the firebox floats inside the stone, almost like artwork.

White stacked stone or "ledger panels" give a rich texture especially when undercabinet lights are on, but they aren't busy or dark and keep the clean look of the cabinets, letting the granite be the star.

fireplace wall nice. Three levels (fireplace, wall, shelves), with different tones going from light to dark. Wood ceiling might be a good idea for the patio!
This is very close to the feel I want. Very little color contrast but lots of textural contrast. I like the gray-browns (but need some muted teal somewhere). No rugs for us, though, unless they're so cheap we can replace them every few months.
