otgmom I ran into this furniture at a local store that was selling the same table, but the chairs and sideboard were slightly different. I thought the quality of the table was OK, but the fabric on the chairs looked really cheap. If you get the chairs, you may want to have it re-upholstered. The wood grain looked nice. The manufacturer is Universal and it is part of their Better Homes and Gardens collection. Horchow sent me a copy of the sideboard which I'm attaching to this comment.

1q2w3e4 No, it is close to dark walnut color, it is a nice dark wood. Very elegant
