Aurora House 1 traditional exterior

Aurora House 1

This Shingle Style house was the first of five houses of this style designed for a golf course community. The rambling floor plan provides opportunities for light and views to the heavily wooded site. The processional entrance leads one through an intimate garden entry, through a reverse stair entry hall that terminates in a glazed piano nook overlooking a pond. White windows, round Tuscan columns, and rough field stone create an interesting contrast between rustic and refined details that are characteristic of shingle style homes of the early 20th century.
