So I started a little private online archive, a place to keep our favorite recipes so I could easily access them wherever we were. When my collection outgrew that static archive, I began researching options for turning it into a database and happened to stumble across WordPress.com, which was perfect because the database was already in place and I didn't have to build anything from scratch. I began dumping our recipes into WordPress and after about a month realized visitors were coming to the site. It was a bare bones setup with no descriptions or photos in the posts, and I decided I needed to spiff it up a bit if people were going to visit. Now here I am three-and-a-half years later, doing something I never planned to do and love.
