Anne DeCocco This picture shows you how pretty it is when the floors and beams are stained in a very similar hue. But these are organic elements, and just like out in nature, they never have to match. They just need to be pleasing to the eye, so put some stain color swatches next to each other and choose what appeals to you, and experiment on some wood samples of each species.
Carson Poetzl, Inc. The installer or stain subcontractor should be able to take a few sample pieces of wood and produce several sample mixtures and apply them to the sample piece(s). It is a little trial and error, but a good stainer should be able to quickly narrow down the options through their past experiences.
