The client wanted to modernize her kitchen. The first step was removing the wall between the family room and kitchen to open up the space. Then came a fresh, sophisticated look borne out with new appliances, cabinet doors and hardware and marble countertops. To attach the bar to the countertop, we commissioned custom stainless columns and added a glass tile backsplash. For the unusual flooring, we replicated the wood, stone and carpet pattern of a spa the client had seen in Las Vegas. A local artisan with whom we’ve worked many times designed and built the new limestone hearth and surround. The client wasn’t afraid to experiment with colors, a creative bonus. As part of this project, we also constructed an outdoor fireplace.
