Ogawa Fisher Architects Yes, the storage bench was custom-built to fit the house and the owner's needs. Sometimes custom cabinets are not much more expensive than those available in stores, so I would recommend that you explore your options and see what suits you best.
tpnguyen007 Thank you for your response.
Could you recommend a white or off white paint that would expand a small bedroom and living room. The flooring is dark wood. I have used Glidden's Tusk Tusk and and also Sherwin Williams Natural Choice but it seems to have made the rooms look much too small. The rooms have very little natural lighting.
Thank you in Advance.
Ogawa Fisher Architects It's hard without actually being in the room (i.e. seeing the floor color, the quality of natural light, etc.) to determine which white paint would be right for you... Benjamin Moore has brighter whites (such as Brilliant White), but they tend to be in a cooler tone. I found a page on the Benjamin Moore website that might help you pick a few to try:

Ogawa Fisher Architects Hi, this was a custom design that we had built with a local cabinetmaker, but it's not rocket science to design or build; we just recommend that you work with a professional, so that it is built to suit you and your needs. Many cabinetmakers can help you with the design if you are not currently working with an architect or interior designer. The material, dimensions, and overall aesthetic should be thoughtfully considered to match your taste and its surroundings. I hope that helps - we look forward to seeing your built-in bench on Houzz once it's finished!
Do you have similar solution idears for Bay Windows? - My name is Sigalit and I have 3 kids whose home work always all over kitchen table. I’d like to use space by far kitchen Bay window to create an easy accessible place for them to do their homework.
We have open concept house where kitchen is a continence of house’s entrance.
When kids are coming home they are only 7 feet from the kitchen. It is way too easy for them to pile their lunch boxes, agendas and all sorts of papers and art work on the kitchen table.
Beside the inconvenience of papers on out table we are eating at, it also all get mixed up with other papers and their art work and get lost.
The idea you have here is brilliant! Bench serving as a storage space is just perfect for family with kids and it leaves table free of cluster to do home work or any other required table space activity.
If it acceptable I can send you picture/s of the place and maybe you can suggest me/give some ideas of how utilize unused space by kitchen’s Bay window
Thank you very much,
Sigalit »

Ogawa Fisher Architects These chairs were acquired by the owner, but I believe they are the Gilbert Chairs from IKEA. I am not sure if they still have the same color, but you can visit their site below:
love the bench, where is it from - Is this a built in bench? I love the size and wood. Do you know where I can get something similar or designed like that »
Ogawa Fisher Architects This was a white oak custom cabinet we designed specifically for this house. We worked with a local cabinetmaker for fabrication. I would recommend that you hire a local designer to design something that is perfect for you and your surroundings. They can specify the wood, the seat depth, the storage options below, and have it work with what's already in your house. If it's just the built-in bench, you can look for a furniture designer; if you are looking to transform the whole room or house, I recommend you hire an interior designer or architect (we do both). Good luck!
