Niche Interiors There really isn't a standard size for a dining room, since it varies depending on what space you have to work with and how it's configured. I've seen dining spaces squeezed into as little as 6 ft x 6 ft. Good luck!
westrenlegend in the end just make sure you have enough room not only to serve but to make how ever many people you are setting comfortable and most of all just own the room make it your on in the design process if you don't love it no one ells will good luck
I want to build a similar bench and cabinet by our window. My window is near our kitchen cabinets. Is it better to build the bookcase the same height as the kitchen cabinet or lower like how you designed it? Help! Thank you in advance! »
Dytecture Hi coconut3333. Yes, it's important to look at your overall kitchen space to see if the proportion works. Personally I would line up bookcases with the top of kitchen cabinets to give a consistent look and add more storage.
Niche Interiors I agree with both of these comments! We chose to end the cabinets at the same level as the existing wainscoting for a consistent look in this room.
4. Take advantage of a sunny spot with a window seat. If your dining room gets lots of natural light, you may be missing out if you use the room only at dinner time. Put in a comfy cushioned window seat and it may become your new favorite reading nook. Bonus: A window seat is a great place for kids to slink off to after they are done eating, while still being in sight.
