This project combines the original bedroom, small bathroom and closets into a single, open and light-filled space. Once stripped to its exterior walls, we inserted back into the center of the space a single freestanding cabinetry piece that organizes movement around the room. This mahogany “box” creates a headboard for the bed, the vanity for the bath, and conceals a walk-in closet and powder room inside. While the detailing is not traditional, we preserved the traditional feel of the home through a warm and rich material palette and the re-conception of the space as a garden room.

Was this a custom window bench or can it be purchased somewhere? »
Lighting - Apart from the cans in the ceiling, is there another ceiling light fixture? Wall lighting? We are building new, and everything is coming easy to me except for the lighting! Thanks. This room is lovely. »
A private oasis. If your bedroom is positioned well to receive early-morning light, take advantage by positioning a window seat or an armchair where you can soak in the rays.

i like this big open window allowing natural light and a place to look out. A good winter spot. The back wall is a concealed walk in wardrobe with also backs onto the ensuite. A big space is needed for this

window facing the garden: something like this - clear glass from up-down, left-right BUT with windows.
right side wall: corner does not have a glass but simply the window
