These windows are aluminum -- they are made by a great company in Sacramento, CA called Blomberg. They are a terrific company to work with and make wonderful windows. Their tech services dept is great -- and they will help you with any kind of window design question you might have. The windows on this house almost all combine several different types of operation -- for example this window has a fixed upper lite over an lower lite that is an inswinging hopper -- not something shown in their catalogue but easy for them to do. I really enjoy working with them.
