This bedroom is beautifully styled, but what I absolutely treasure about it is the vintage alarm clock. It is such a simple, practical piece, but it's one that immediately draws your attention. Intentionality is a key component to well-designed spaces, and is especially apparent when it comes to the little things.
I love the gray-on-gray with the leaf wallpaper and the taller headboard. A few mismatched green accents are a nice touch. The modern lamp and table contrasting with the more organic and feminine wallpaper also add a nice tension.
3. Mix up your furniture. Another way to make your room feel current is to mix up your furnishings. Nothing says staid and dated more than complete matching bedroom, dining room and living room sets. Try painting the side tables that match your bedroom suite a different color or replace them with a different set altogether.
Combine organic with concrete. To warm up a master bedroom in a modern loft, "this organic metallic wallpaper coordinated well with the exposed concrete and added much-needed pattern to the space," Jones says.
