Platinum Poolcare Hello. Yes, both the coping and the deck are travertine stone. The travertine is tested to withstand the freeze/thaw cycles in our climates. Using proper setting materials per the manufacturer's recommendations will go a long way towards insuring that the material resists cracking in the extreme cycles. Another way to prevent cracking and splaying which is somewhat less desirable is to fill-in the pores of the travertine with an approved compound. This does change the finished look of the stone somewhat, so we usually don't opt for that solution. Using a sealer is also a good idea, as long as you remember to re-seal as much as annually depending on the climate, use, and manufacturer's recommendations.
can picture this like our house (stairs from our room, stairs from deck). just need to add spa. like the decking and the way the pool fits in with the grass.
