Tres McKinney Design The paint finish on the cabinets is a muted earthy green. The color and finish was custom developed by decorative painter Peggy Del Rosario www.peggydelrosario.com . The painting technique is done in several stages to give it a nuanced, aged antique look without being too rustic. The finish compliments the sophisticated furnishings of the adjacent great room open to the kitchen.
Tres McKinney Design I custom designed the roman shade and had it made by a soft furnishings work room. The fabric has since been discontinued but you could have something similar made for your kitchen in a similar style and fabric.
The shade is lined and interlined, it has tape trim on the outer edges and a tassel trim o the bottom edge. The Italian pottery is from the clients personal collection so I do not have a source.
Tres McKinney Design Thank you for the compliment. This is one of my favorite kitchen projects. The knobs are from Top Knobs " Normandy Collection", style # M629 (PAB) Patina black finish. They are also available in pewter and Patina rouge (brown/rust color) finishes.
Tres McKinney Design It is a roman shade. I call it a flat roman shade as there are no horizontal tucks. It would be great over a double hung window. It pleats itself as you pull up the shade so that when it is in its top most position it mimics a valance. It can be made as an instide mount as this one is or it can be mounted outside so that it overlaps the windowcasings. You can also mount it higher than the window as an outside mount so that when it is up it clears the window. This shade was both inner lined and lined which gives it a fuller more custom look and helps block out strong sun when in the down position. Sheer linen shades can also be quite attractive if privacy is not a concern.
