Renting an office and aren't allowed to paper? Look at this - a beautiful Chinoiserie triptych is formed by three simple white frames and a few yards of wallpaper in this office.
Those wallpaper panels are genius. It's a great idea for inspiration boards, though there is no way I would ever put a thumbtack through that beautiful vintage wallpaper!
Here print and pattern is brought in via framed vintage wallpaper. There's plenty of room to store and display belongings on the shelves, but a good system for storing them away in boxes when necessary.
Or rather than directly overhead, go for a subtler look by hanging it just to the side of the desk — right where my eyes tend to wander when I start losing focus.
I know art students shudder when told their masterpieces look like wallpaper. But you could do a lot worse. Large framed panels create a clean, symmetrical backdrop. And if you get tired of it, you can always switch patterns.
Another idea for glamming up your pinboard is wallpaper. Instead of buying rolls and rolls of the expensive stuff you like for the walls, which may be overwhelming once applied, just one roll will infuse the space with the pattern and colors you like. Your pin wall doesn't have to be in front of your desk. The blank wall behind your desk can be a good spot to house your favorite images.
Bring a hint of spring to your walls. A great way to try out a fancy wallpaper is to frame a beautiful length of it. Try using molding from the hardware store (rather than an actual frame) to get exactly the size you need at a much more reasonable price.

Instead of wallpapering an entire room or wall, add wallpaper to oversized, framed bulletin boards. You get the decorating punch without all the bother. It also won't overwhelm the room and acts as an accent.

Great idea for all the wallpaper samples I sent a way for and then discovered were too expensive for a project. I think I might use these for samples of the same print in different colorways.
