This bathroom was gutted and built back from scratch. The beadboard, black and white floor tile and pedestal sink are consistent with the feel of this older home.

Peter Bales This was an older house and client wanted to leave the window (and save some money) so he was planning to just put a plastic curtain over the window that could be closed when someone is in the shower. I covered this project and different ways to address the window in this article: http://inspiredremodeling.com/2009/12/14/custom-fit-for-tub-and-surround/.
I know a plastic curtain is not the most attractive or even most waterproof choice, but each client has their own preferences. If at all possible it's obviously best to not have a window in the shower... :)
Nice look with window in bath, would make room for stand alone shower plus keep light. Wouldn't have curtain on tub so it doesn't block window (most stand alone tubs don't.) nice inset shelves in tub keep toiletries out of sight.
