The bold and graphic Ravello Rug (2010) is handcrafted using a centuries-old technique that creates a flat-woven rug, also referred to as a kilim. Originating in ancient Persia, kilims are produced by interweaving the warp and weft strands – in this instance pure wool that’s woven with cotton – producing a rug with no pile, as opposed to pile rugs, which use knotting. Our Ravello Flatweave Rug takes the same handcrafted detailed approach and updates it with a bold, graphic pattern that’s inspired from European tile flooring. A rug pad is recommended to keep the rug in place. The Ravello Rug’s manufacturer is a member of Rugmark, which ensures that the Rug is made in a socially responsible manner. The global nonprofit organization is fighting to end child labor and improve educational opportunities for children in India, Pakistan and Nepal. Made in India. DWR Exclusive
