Love the iron strapping on the post. Who did the iron work...railings, too? Thanks! »
Lynne Barton Bier - Home on the Range Interiors I believe they pour gypcrete over the tubing and then lay the floor but I leave that to the builder so I'm not sure of the details! The sandstone is sealed. You can either use a color enhancer like stone glamour, or a standard sealer that leaves the color more muted. We opted to keep the color of the sandstone more natural and not enhanced. Sandstone does tend to flake and chip some, so you have to be okay with that.
Lynne Barton Bier - Home on the Range Interiors Hi again dtmarek5, the sconce we used was from 2nd Ave. Design. We customized it to have an up and down light bulb. I just looked and I don't see that exact fixture on their site, but this one is similar. http://www.2ndave.com/productdetail.asp?partnumber=74008.12.ADA
Lynne Barton Bier - Home on the Range Interiors Hi John, With all of the wonderful craftsmen you have in your area, I would bet you could find someone there to make a similar door for you. Good luck with the construction process. When do you expect to complete your house? Are you right on the lake?
Lynne Barton Bier - Home on the Range Interiors Hi ssjoshi, thanks for your nice comments on the space, The chandelier is from Maxim and the collection is Notre Dame. We ordered it through The Light Center in Fort Collins, Colorado from Tricia Hauan. We order most of the lighting for our new construction jobs from them, and Tricia is very knowledgeable and customer service oriented. If you ever need any help she is good at helping long distance with lighting questions and fixtures.
Lynne Barton Bier - Home on the Range Interiors The rock is a purple moss rock that is commonly found in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. It is picked up in fields rather than being mined which is why it is covered in a beautiful soft green moss. The rock itself often has rich reds and purples in it in addition to browns, coppers and grays. A good source for moss rock is Gallegos Corp. http://www.gallegoscorp.com/ They have a great downloadable catalog with pictures of panels with the various rocks they sell.
