Built-in bookshelves made from reclaimed lumber provide a great backdrop for the beautiful tans, soft greens and gray blues of the antique books and the pottery collection. The Kiva fireplace embodies the New Mexico Territorial style.

Where can I purchase reclaimed lumber bookshelves? »
Lynne Barton Bier - Home on the Range Interiors Hi pzachariou, I just got an iphone and had some issues with the sync on my emails. I just saw this question and unfortunately, motherbear is correct about them being built-in cabinets. We did have them custom made during the construction of the home.
There are a number of great suppliers around for reclaimed wood but it is a little hard to work with because of the irregularity of the boards and the splinters. Be sure to have your carpenter put the boards through a time-saver (one pass only so it takes off splinters but not the patina of the old wood). Have him sort through the wood to get the flattest boards so they go together well when he is constructing the shelves.
.Here is one source that offers cabinet grade reclaimed lumber. http://www.elmwoodreclaimedtimber.com/wood.aspx?pgID=1657 I am also attaching a couple of other photos with reclaimed wood bookshelves in another house we did the interiors on.
Good luck!
