Here we see from left to right the work studio, where both clients work full-time, and the main house plus the garage structure/apartment, which is connected to the main entrance of the house. The house is a revolving door of kids going and coming for extended visits.This picture shows how the home is surrounded by a forest in the north and a meadow in the south. Only a few homes populate the area, and the nearest paved road is about a mile away. The self-containment of the house doesn't bother Kielman's clients one bit, because they have everything they need for work and play within the home.

We like the big windows. I took the look at the interior of the house. The big window on the second floor is exactly what we want. What would it look like if adding balcony to the second floor? Or would big square window look nice with a French style roof? not a thick tradition French roof, but much lighter one. This type of design can work really well both with upstairs balcony and sqaure window! If we go with ranch, I think we will go with one or two triangles on the roof, like the first photo. I feel a ranch house with no triangle like this one is more suitable for large open plains but ours is not that vast and sits on a slope. If roof without triangle, but with a French touch, like the photo above would be nice? French country style makes it weight less? I would love to see the site as soon as possible. From experience given the size of the lot, even though there is a slope, the house will still look big and spacious because we will cleverly follow the slope, but to give a good answer I would like to see it first. What did you mean by weight less?
