Sunken living room seating... - Is the couch custom built in or is this a custom wall will store-bought furniture inside? It looks like a really creative and practical solution to a sunken LR! »
Hull Historical Hi danibear710, thanks for your question. Hull Historical did the architectural design and woodwork in this room, so we actually don't know where the homeowner found the rug. Good luck in your search though!
Can tables be taller than upper floor? - I purchased tables that are 4 inches taller than the upper floor in the sunken living room. The tables being higher than the floor looks awkward. Is this a design no-no? Help please. »
If you’re decorating a sunken living room, a built-in couch may best complement the space’s architectural features. Construct it along the edge to enhance the layered effect of the flooring’s different tiers.
We like the look of the wood and stone, Less stone - just for the fireplace with storage on either side. we like the windows - not the sunken aspect though. This would give us enought room for lots of seating.
Oh my goodness i love this room it reminds me of being in the country without any noisy neighbors and it has a great view that looks like it may be in the country because of the trees and stuff there. This house makes me feel like going outside and walking or enjoying nature I love that there is a beautiful wood stove it makes the moment feel romantic.
Sunken living space. Stone fireplace wall. Creates a separateness within a larger great room without walls. Possible for dining area on main level (rather than its own formal room).
I know this isn't your colour scheme. But imagine if you did open the front up to that gorgeous, gum tree graced front space and made an indoor/outdoor space
