What color paint is used on the dining table and chairs? I want to paint my dining room table and chairs but I'm not sure what color paint color to use. »
The layers of beautiful platters keep an English simplicity through keeping to whites and creams, and allowing variation through shape, texture, and placement.
This room reminds me so much of the dining room in the movie, Something's Gotta Give. What a gorgeous display that completely "makes" this room, while being totally practical since it keeps the dishware right at hand for setting the table.
Now, go get those dishes out from behind the curtains. It's time to unpack all Grandma's heirloom china. You have beautiful little porcelain works of art just begging to decorate your walls and home.
Do you use your dishes in your decorating? If so, please share by leaving a comment with a photo for all us dishaholics to see. :-)
This room is a great example of how dark wood can work with pale walls and accessories. I especially like the way the plates add texture, so the room doesn't look boring. I might like the whole space even better with one shot of color - maybe green hydrangeas on the table.
A stunning monochromatic collection of plates, platters, tureens and cake stands fill a traditional built-in buffet — and negate any need for other art in this dining room.
love the idea of collecting thrift store plates i love and arranging them on a wall. a simple way to 'own' all the china i want and enjoy it without having to buy a whole set

Use multiple platters to act as artwork. Keep the colors the same, usually white, but play with different shapes and sizes. To make them really stand out, paint the back of the cabinet a complimenting color.
