Could you tell me the brand of paint you used for the stairs. - I'd also like to know the process for applying it so that it lasts (i.e. how many coats, top layer of anything?
Thanks »
Sue De Chiara Hi, we had a pro come into paint the stairs, you can see the paint choices in this month's HGTV magazine. I believe it was Benjamin Moore paints and there is a clear coat finishing coat of polyurethane on top.
This staircase leads up to a space located over the garage, which holds De Chiara's home gym and the Zhush headquarters. The stairs were given a special touch with hand painted numbers and a simple rope bannister. 8. Stairway + lots of paint = painted runner. Update a dark staircase by painting layers of light colors. Start with a white base, follow with the main runner color and accent with a thin border stripe if you wish.
Don't be afraid of painted floors! There are some fantastic hard-wearing floor paints available. And if you're using white, which really does look lovely, these paints won't yellow either.
