I like the idea of a corner sink solving the awkward upper corner cabinet/storage issue. And since I prefer a standard one-drain sink (and we may have another sink in the island anyway) it seems like a corner could support that.

The knobs holding the valances are actually crystal knobs from a set of shower curtain rings I found at a Dollar Store. I just unscrewed the curtain hangers and hot-glued them to the window trim.
