1716robinhood I'm working on a similar set up in my living room now. We ran a 1 1/2" conduit for component cables, mainly just a single HDMI cable with modern internet connected TVs. We also ran electrical, all before we closed in the fireplace sheetrock. The components will be hidden in a hall closet about 30' away and I'm planning on using the Logitech - Harmony 900 - 15 Device Universal Remote with RF (radio frequency). Any devices requiring IR (infrared) can be controlled out of sight with "IR Blasters" that convert the RF signal to IR at the components location in the closet.

misslucy1 Thank you. My floorboards are a similar stain - perhaps a little more honey-brown tone - and I wasn't quite sure what other timber stain would work well with grey.
