When I saw this photo, my first thought was "Where's the bar?" It feels as though it's just waiting for a cocktail party. The deep gray-green on the walls feels cozy and intimate, and the mirrored accents help to spread light around the space.

Classy peacock combo..... Not sure this could translate to steam punk, but the carpet is a nice touch
find this rug or one similar (hopefully substantially BIG) , paint one or two walls a bold teal or green and pick neutral furniture, a few brilliant coloured accessories and the space won't read neutral even though the majority could still be greys...
