Anne DeCocco I've noticed that people tend to gravitate toward a porch arrangement where rocking chairs are lined up in a row, facing a view of any kind. Another arrangment is to have furniture in a grouping that encourages conversation. Have chunky elements around--big pots of plants, big bucket of ice for cold drinks, firepit such as you see in this picture. All chairs need to be comfy ones!

like how gracefully this design offers an attractive and proportional uncovered extension to the lovely screened porch; also like the natural weathered unpainted wood floor paired with painted rails (although, intead of stained wood atop the railings, I'd paint that white also)
