Jeffrey Smith This is actually an integral color concrete. The color is "bamboo" from QC, who unfortunately is out of business. And the concrete was then acid washed to give it a softer more sandstone like finish.
lynnhylen I'm not sure QC is out of business. I found their website "QCconstructionproducts.com" and called the phone number on it and it is working. (4/22/12)
Annie Thornton Like all stains, the older it is and the longer it is left to absorb into the concrete, the more difficult it is to remove. Older concrete is more porous than newer concrete, so it may be more difficult to remove stains from there.
When approaching a stain on concrete, try to identify what the stain came from. That will dictate what products and cleaning methods you will use, and you won't have to spend too much time guessing how to clean it.
Here is a quick list of common stains, and what should be able to clean them. First try to scrub with a bristle brush and some cleaning detergent. If that doesn't work, get more serious
mildew-TSP and bleach
rust, oil, and grease-scrub with scouring powder and TSP, then rinse with water. If the oil stains are new, cover with a dry powder material to absorb the stain. Do not scrub.
gum, adhesive, asphalt, etc.-pile ice on top to soak, and then scrape off
There are also cleaners specifically made for concrete. You can purchase cleaners that are specialized for different types of stains.
