One way to make your crown molding stand out is to paint your ceilings the same color as your walls. You can do this in a couple of ways: your ceiling paint can be less saturated than your walls, or it can have a different finish (flat as opposed to eggshell). This will allow your molding to 'pop' even if you're using neutral tones throughout.

Area rugs should, at a minimum, be under the front legs of your seating - But it's better if it's under the entire sofa or chair as shown here.

What you don't want is a rug so small that it's floating out there like a little island surrounded by sofas and chairs

Because the doors are so beautiful, we chose not to use window treatments. However if your space requires them, one option would be to put a woven wood or blind on each door. Another good option is to use drapery panels and rods, a set for each door. Best of luck with your project!
