tweakers The shutters work here with what is white trim, because the trim is only seen on the window apron, not as a border around the deep colored shutter. The usual consensus is that your shutter color should blend with the color or stain of the trim. I suspect that this window has only wallboard around the window and only wood sill. I think this shutter color looks great in this room. I've been in the custom, higher end shutter business for a long time and have done lots of variations of this. I've seen stained shutters work on white trim where the emphasis was on having the shutter stain blend to the prominent doses of furniture color. For most rooms, following the trim color is most preferred.
