The barrel vault-ceilinged foyer leads directly to the garden. French doors in the entryway and back of the hall bring in lots of light. Two armless club chairs offer a place to sit and read.
This beautiful home in Birmingham, Ala., was inspired by a love of French style. The entryway, with its luxe fabrics and ornate touches, lets visitors know what's in store.
Use French doors to open up a dark entryway. Formal vestibules can be very dark — open yours up by replacing the solid interior door with a glass-paned door or French doors. Add transom windows above your exterior door or swap out your entry door for a glass model as well, and the light will really pour in.
Extra height to doors thru windows on top, impactful and interesting door overall,, blue grey trim on external door at front of photo, feeling of airiness, seating and chest in lobby
