The master Bathroom features double "trough" object vanities on top of a quartz countertop. The custom wenge cabinets float above the terrazzo floor, which continues into the walk-in shower. Glass tiles line the shower wall. A counter-to-ceiling continuous mirror reflects the room and makes it feel twice as big, making for a dramatic setup. Photograph by Geoffrey Hodgdon.

FORMA Design The bottom of the cabinet was about a foot above the floor. As the distance gets less, the floating effect diminishes.

FORMA Design The wall tiles are glass, in natural color. You can check with a local stone source, to see what lines they carry and what colors they come in- there is a large number of companies out there who produce similar tiles.

ggdanzig Thank you! I have one more question and if you don't mind sharing, what size are the wall and floor tiles? Also, I can't tell if the terrazzo tiles have marble and resin specs in them. Do they?

FORMA Design The cabinetry was custom designed by FORMA, the countertop is Silestone and the vanities are from Duravit.

Terrazzo floors. Seemingly indestructible, terrazzo gets high marks for durability and good looks. This material, made of chips of marble or granite set in concrete and polished, also can score high for sustainability if you use no- or low-VOC sealers and low-impact aggregates such as recycled glass. Although terrazzo can be pricey, a bathroom, with its relatively small footprint, can be a great place to splurge on this top-notch material.
