JOHN DANCEY Custom Designing/Remodeling/Building salt will probably make clear finish, or finish that breaths appear more weathered, beacuse salt will be going in and out. weathered does not mean worse. The worst is trapped moisture, because of something that does not breathe as much as needed. You need good vapor barrier behind siding. But close to water doubles the UV. which is hard on everything.

MICHAEL EISENMAN The salinity of the salt water will affest everything within it's area of atmospheric impact. The high acrylic-based coatings have over time weathered well against the corrosive properties of salt air.
