abcmom Thanks so much for the response! Love it! Is the door colour Sherwin Williams too? I would need to find an antique door for that, your colours are fabulous, thanks again for sharing!
Located just off a side entrance, this laundry nook is practical for dropping wet swimsuits and beach towels. Placing the washer and dryer near an exterior door keeps dirt and grime from being tracked through the rest of the home. A countertop and open shelving above the appliances add workspace and storage.
The original cinderblock structure consisted of tiny bedrooms and no open spaces. The Snayds wanted to give the home a more modern feel but also bring in elements that would highlight its history and make it timeless. Clapboard siding and a light color palette gave the new home a fresh look.
Even better, a washer and dryer close to where you enter the house can quickly corral damp clothes. Adding a small changing area would make this spot even more efficient for transitioning from beach to interior.
Set up a washing station near the back door. Stop sand and dirt from being tracked indoors by staging a foot rinse near the door. Of course, in an ideal world we would all have outdoor showers (and live steps from the beach) but a stool placed beside a spigot, or even a watering can and a wooden doormat can do the trick.
4. Family-friendly beach house. This Tybee Island beach house near Savannah, Georgia, is full of fresh color and laid-back beachy style. From easy-care floors and fabrics to the conveniently located shower and laundry, everything in this home is designed to handle daily traffic with ease.
Love the concept of an outdoor shower on a back porch with the laundry room right inside...just wash the kids off & throw the dirty clothes right in the washer! And gotta love the red door, too!
Side entrance with outside shower - great for sandy feet. Having the laundry room right there means items can be washed, dried, folded and loaded right into the car for the ride home...
