HBF plus Design Mixing these cabinets with darker woods should work just fine. It's like most things in design, they can be done well or not depending on the details. But this cabinet finish is enough of a neutral to be versatile in the things with which they can live comfortably.

sink-Maintenance: Maintaining durable soapstone is a breeze — usually soap and water will do the trick. Untreated, natural soapstone is soft gray; however, applying mineral oil can enhance the inherent natural veining and evenly darken its color. Most scratches will disappear after a mineral oil treatment, while others can be buffed out with a very fine-grit sandpaper.

Soapstone (also known as steatite) is impervious to chemicals, acid and water, making it an ideal material for kitchen sinks. The quarried metamorphic rock — made up of talc, chlorite and other minerals — is softer than most other natural stones. However, it's still denser than marble, slate, limestone and granite.
