What type hooks do you use for placing all those bobbins on the pegboard - I've used pegboards for my tools and hobby room for ages, but have never seen a way to hang that many bobbins and spools of thread. I'd love to see a close up of the way these were hung! Thanks! »
Canyon Creek Cabinet Company There needs to be an air pocket between the pegboard and the wall to have clearance for the peg hardware. You can do this by making a frame for the back of the pegboard with 3/4" wood material. Drill through the pegboard & frame into wall studs to mount securely. If mounting a large piece of pegboard (4' x 8'), mount a vertical crosspiece for stability.
Flaunt it. Make no mistake, this sewing room is organized to a T using pegboard. Costing about $20 for 16 square feet, pegboard is an affordable organizing option that can't be overlooked. Custom-fit note: Your neighborhood hardware store can cut your pegboard to your exact measurements. One or two cuts are usually included when you purchase it at the store; any additional changes are around 50 cents per cut.
Get clever with wall storage. Go beyond shelving units, as other options may prove more practical for your needs. Hack suggests wire racks, magnetic systems for tools and a pegboard for sewing essentials.
