Our building site is on the side of a hill in the middle of 10 acres that has a thick buffer of cedar and oak trees on the perimeter, so I don't think we will be very exposed. We really like the open concept but are just concerned about a high noise level.

pcmom1 Sounds wonderful! Then just add fluff, fluff and fluff: wallpaper, drapes, rugs, pillows. Hang quilts, tapestries up as art.
Type of flooring you are thinking about? Think there is something that can be installed under wood floors. Tile more noise. Cork is warm, soft and sound absorbing.
