Frederick + Frederick Architects Yes, that is a grill and it is vented. You will need to use an outdoor grade vent hood on a porch. It should be vented to the exterior. We backed the grill up to the fireplace inside and used the chimney to run the vent through the roof.

kdriscoll123 Thank you! the issue we have is that we do not have an interior wall for the grill because we have large lanai like doors going into the house from the porch. We will have a ventless stand along fireplace on the screened in porch. We are just trying to figure out how we can have a grill there. Thanks.

BCB Decor outdoor roller shades. they filter the light and you can still enjoy your view

Kay aeroshades makes outdoor wooden roll up shades and you can use a solar shades to block the sun but still give visability to the outside

a long/large porch to run along the back of the house with some built in storage along house for design and practicality. a full living room area and also a dining area... moving over to the other end of the house. Walking through a door at the bottom of the stairs here to an upper deck strictly for sunbathing? Spiral staircase out to firepit area?
