The Lake Cherokee Home traditional-exterior

The Lake Cherokee Home

What this new 2,000 square-foot vacation home may lack in scope, it more than makes up for in rustic beauty and pure authenticity. Overlooking serene Lake Cherokee, this home fits naturally, appropriately into the landscape. It is both a celebration of the outdoors and a tribute to Craftsman-style construction, appointed with special touches the homeowners insisted upon. Tremendous 12-by-12 hammer trusses support the roof with nary a nail. A multitude of windows invite the outdoors in. And paints and finishes were chosen from historic palettes. Even pieces of the brick and stonework were reclaimed from a beloved grandfather’s cabin that had burned years earlier.
