Christian Rice Architects, Inc. Do you know why someone told you it couldn't be done? The only thing I could think of is noth aving enough space for insulation-- but there are ways around that-- you could use rigid insulation for the whole wall-- or frame this wall with 2x6 or even 2x8 framing to gain the depth needed for standard batt insulation. Hope that helps!
Christian Rice Architects, Inc. My apologies-- the owner selected and purchased this appliance directly. As you may know, placing a microwave in an upper location such as this is often tricky due to the depth. I have had success with GE Spacesaver units in the past-- which have a more shallow depth than other units. Hope that helps!
Cabinet Connection of NC Not typically, because there is usually duct work behind the panels. You access the hood for maintenance from underneath the wood hood.
starrsantiques1 My mistake. I meant do these panels open to get to the ducting? Our cabinet maker says they need to open for access? I told him I see pictures on Houzz that looks like they are just decorative Am I wrong? Thank You
kriswind I love the way the hood looks, what type of exhaust fan did you get? What is the height distance from the top of cabinet from top of stove? Thanks
Space usage on the right side of Microwave - How is the corner near Microwave used? Is there a small nook which opens on the top of MW or accessible from cupboard on the right. I have a small kitchen in which I am planning to have the same layout. Any tips would be welcome »
I have a situation where I do not want to block our view with a typical chandelier. Are these on a functional pulley ? If so I wondered if you could share the source? »
Question: are the countertops marble, granite, or something else? My guess is marble, but I'm hoping it's granite because I like the durability.
Anyone know if granite comes in white with the light, smokey greys? »
ewoods There is a granite called Valley White that is white with streaks of grey and flecks of garnet. Also one that is called River White (or NEW Bianco Romano) that is similar.
Here the microwave is charmingly tucked into a corner with the refrigerator on one side, and the sink on the other. A mini-cook zone in it's own right - I'm picturing the late night munchies and microwaved Swiss Miss happening right here in this cozy, sweet spot.
