Mirror - I love the floating effect. I don't completely understand how to secure it and how the light from behind was done. Could you please explain so I can try and have it done. Thanks so much. »
dSPACE Studio Ltd The LED tape light product has an extremely long lifespan. The average expected lifespan when properly installed is 50,000 hours, (which is the equivalent of leaving the light on for 8 hours a day every day for 17 years at full brightness). After the 50,000 hours the light doesn't burn out all at once, but slowly starts to dim. Eventually the whole fixture will need to be replaced. Thanks for the question and good luck with your project.
dSPACE Studio Ltd Hi, great question. The walnut paneling is stained a very dark brown and it appears black in the photos. Thanks for your question and good luck with your project.

I like the style and size of this ceiling light but I don't like the fact that people can see the light bulb. - Do you have any other style you can suggest to me please? Thanks »
dSPACE Studio Ltd We recommend browsing through the websites for YLighting and Lightology. Both have a great selection of lights to choose from. Good Luck with your project! dSPACE Studio's portfolio of work can been seen at www.dspacestudio.com
Floating Mirror - Hi, I have a client who is in LOVE with this bathroom and wants me to do the floor to ceiling mirror, how is that secured? is there a channel in the ceiling and blocked out behind the mirror?
Thank you! »
dSPACE Studio Ltd Hi, great question. We designed this ceiling detail with a double step drywall ceiling border using two layers of 1/2” drywall. This creates elegant shadow lines and defines the room. Details like this take architectural elements beyond just being very nice and make them truly superb. dSPACE Studio Ltd Hi, great question. This vanity is attached to the wall on either side and has a steel support structure below to ensure that is securely attached to the walls. We positioned the vanity 3 inches forward of the floor-to-ceilling mirror to create a dramatic illusion of depth. Our stone fabricator was able to cut the slabs of white marble to the exact size for a perfect fit. We used sink by WetStyle and special short p-trap to eliminate any chance of seeing unsightly plumbing below or in the mirror! All the details count! Thanks for asking and good luck with your projects. - dSPACE Studio
Custom Home Planning Center You can do a simple vanity with two 2 x 12 and either legs (jacks in the wall ) formed as a box and nailed or best screwed to the wall. Remember to add led down lights. You can also cut the duplex out let in the front if you center your hole.
dSPACE Studio Ltd We used a tracery pattern that is available from Decorator's Supply in Chicago. The tracery pattern is No. 7859 and was adhered to a MDF backing.
Good luck with your project - dSPACE Studio www.dspacestudio.com"
dSPACE Studio Ltd Thanks so much for appreciating our work. The white marble is a unique block from Italy called Bianco Dolomiti and we sourced this through Stone Source USA. It is a much less expensive option to Calacatta. It has a contemporary feel with the subtle, linear veining. We ordered the larger size tile 16" x 32" to create a more substantial appearance and used a 1/16th grout joint. Thanks again - dSPACE Studio Ltd. www.dspacestudio.com
dSPACE Studio Ltd Thank you! Regarding the tracery detail behind the floating mirror, we opted to use MDF wood tracery in lieu of plaster. The tracery pattern was inspired by the limestone tracery on the facade of the home. The product was sourced from Decorators Supply here in Chicago. Their website is www.decoratorssupply.com and phone is (800) 792-209.
dSPACE Studio Ltd dSPACE Studio designed this custom white marble sink to fit the space perfectly. All marble corners and edges have a 45-degree miter with white epoxy for a seamless design. The sink is suspended with attachments at the side walls to create the floating installation. A floor to ceiling mirror with back edge lighting completes the design. Thanks for your inquiry.
In the powder room, this same two-layer drywall ceiling detail gives the illusion that there is crown molding without actually using any at all. If you have an 8-foot ceiling, but would like the look of crown molding, this would be a great option that wouldn't make the ceiling look lower.
9. Mirror, mirror. Make your extra-small powder bathroom seem double its size by installing a floor-to-ceiling mirorr. Not only will the room appear larger, but the space will seem brighter.

The mirror is applied to full height MDF backing with wood framing behind it. In this way we were able to create light coves behind the mirror while fully supporting it floor to ceiling.
I love the intensity and the drama of the conflicting light/dark space, even though I doubt I would have the courage to overcome the coffin-esque value of it. What I must repeat in my own space is the vaulted ceiling illusion, the floating mirror, the baroque moulding crossing centuries into the modern space and the unexpected light that cascades over it. Stunning!
