The molding is actually 1 1/2" molding placed about 2 1/2" on either side of the edge at the bottom of the angled wall and at the top of the angle wall. It is then painted with an enameled paint or semi gloss painted between and including the 1 1/2" moldings to give it the illusion of being one solid molding piece. It looks very elegant.
