I love the chairs....who are they by and where can I get them? - The chairs are beautiful. Can you please share the manufacturer and model and also where I can get them. Thanks! »
This is my dream table . . . must have it! - Would love to have the specifics, such as width, height and maximum length with and without leaves. Also, where could this table be purchased or made to my own longer size specifications? I eagerly await your answers . . . thank you! »
The art work. Who is the artist and where can I find this. Thank you - I love what I can see of this artist work behind the light. Could you tell me who this is and where I can find it. Thank you »
Shirley Meisels Hi, I'm sorry I no longer have that information recorded but I know if you read through the news feed that was answered several months ago.
Cadieux Interiors Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in this table and to Shirley for providing our contact information as a source. For those interested here is link to this table which contains product information.
How long is this "great table" with all the leaves? - Need a table of similar style that can be extended to 140-150 inches and be around 98" without leaves. »
Is there a standard width for ceiling soffits? - My general contractor is building ceiling soffits to house standard 3" pot lights and I am not sure what the dimensions of t he soffits should be. The wall is approximately 17 feet long and the height is a standard 8 foot ceiling.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Linda »
COASTROAD Hearth & Patio I don't know if anyone has a feel for a "standard", but most of the time we work with 18" deep off of the wall. That would allow your recessed lighting to be centered in the soffit at 9" off of the wall.
Ceiling height in this room? - Trying to decide on chandelier for my dining room. I have been looking at the Troy Sausalito 5 light, but don't know if it has enough height in the body of it...16.5 inches and my ceilings are 9 ft. Using this picture as a visual. »
Joni Koenig Interiors I don't know if you have other areas that you are working on or just this chandelier. I do offer day rates if you are interested in talking. You can email me through my website. Good luck.
Anne DeCocco I would consider this transitional style. The traditional part is the formal set up of the dining room, but the furnishings and finishes are contemporary; the chandelier, the drapery fabric, the clean lines on those chairs. Transitional bridges traditional with contemporary--beautifully.
Shirley Meisels This one was hand woven and an odd dimension. But 24-30" beyond the edge of the chairs should be enough so that when one is seated they are still on the carpet
babynurse Okay....thank you for the advice. I can't really tell what the sconces look like? Do you know who makes them? Are they a mate to eh chandelier or just complementary?
Shirley Meisels The paining is from a local gallery in Toronto called Art Interiors. if you contact them with the photo they can fill you in on artist.
Shirley Meisels Strange...I don't see it on the his website www.thomfilicia.com, and I don't recall the name of it.
I purchased it at Elte Carpets in Toronto 416-785-7885.
flowers...I know...not the usual question for a designer.. - I love the flower arrangements and I volunteer at our church for flowers at the alter and would love to duplicate this...can you please tell me the species? Thank you! »
The dining room retains a clean and contemporary feeling, while the moldings and trimwork Meisels designed lend a traditional feel. "This room was a blank canvas with bare walls and really no room for a sideboard," she says. "I decided to dress the walls to add interest and warm the space up. The moldings also helped to make otherwise unattractive bulkheads look like an architectural feature."Chairs and sconces: Barbara BarryDrapery fabric: Riad from Kravet
This dinning room is almost too fancy for me, but I like all the wood. It could be influenced by the American craftsman Style because of the hardwood floor and the wooden table
