There is no question that these three rock formations add mass to this meditation garden. Clearly, these pieces are man-made, but because they were built from native stone rather than from metal or fiberglass, they fit into the space quite naturally. Moreover, they seem to have a calming, timeless presence here, suggesting protection. The visual stone mass strikes a balance with a different mass from the slender tree trunks.

Feels still, quiet and ancient; I think I would only speak in a whisper here.

I love the idea of such things. Just like that grapevine basket I built. It would be downright therapy to build one of these slowly. Perhaps from stones I cleared from land I wanted to cultivate.

I like this meditation garden a lot. The three boulders in the space give it the feel of tranquility and a sense of peace and a calming atmosphere. I guarentee that if this picture had sound, you'd be able to interpret the feeling of being in a meditaion garden like this one. Very nice!

Recently installed cairn at the Cliffs of Glassy. There are 3 of these rock formations in the residents side meditation garden. In modern times, cairns are often erected as landmarks, a use they have had since ancient times. Since prehistory, they have also been built as sepulchral monuments, or used for defensive, hunting, ceremonial, astronomical and other purposes.
