Katherine Kawaguchi This project was over a year ago-typical guest bedroom -fairly small
11x12 I believe with cabinet runs approximately 8 ft on home office side (right) and 9 ft on sewing center run hope this helps. I always draw my plans on CAD to ensure correct dimensions and specifications that are perfect! Happy Designing!
How to make a basement window look taller, like down to my desk? - I have a window up my desk, centered, but I would love to make it appear huge just to make beleive it is tall, without having to make a real opening, if you can see what I mean? I love wide and tall windows, I'm sure you have a few ideas that would make beleive that there is a big window giving more lighting to my desk room...(instead of that small and high one)... What do you think? and thank you for your answer so much! Yvette. »
Katherine Kawaguchi I would also recommend lighting-LED strip would be great! I've also added mirror behind treatments to serve as glass reflection as some windows do-will give the illusion of seeing beyond basement wall. Take treatments to ceiling to minimize "closed in or confined spaces"
Or hey -create a MAN CAVE-they L-O-V-E it and it is so appropriate in a basement space!
georgehill absolutely love this!!! I am also a quilter and making an office/sewing room in one of my spare rooms. Thank you for responding I did find dealers in my area.
Another growing trend for appliances is outfitting craft spaces with items like sophisticated new sewing machines. Crafting has become especially popular in the recession as homeowners have stayed and played at home more. We've also sought more opportunities to save, which has renewed the popularity of old-fashioned crafts like knitting, sewing and quilting. Look for new appliances geared toward these hobbies, including potential smart phone tie-ins for patterns, designs and other fun upgrades.
like tall cabinets....with lift up drawer like kitchen to put printer, scanner, cutter in. Like pull out ironing drawer by sewing machine. couch instead of island an idea....but like island concept.
Sofa / sitting area. Seems like parts of this photo could work in den / piano room for crafts too. LOVE the hidey spot for sewing machine!! --Mark said to SAVE this photo.
